Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey clarifies that 'New Civil War' tweet

As we told you on Sunday, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey took quite a bit of heat after he shared a medium post on how Dems should and will win the “New Civil War” and that America should follow California’s example where the GOP is all but extinct:

Dorsey called it a “great read” at the time:

Well, now he’s returned to try to clean it up a little bit, tweeting that “both parties can work together”:

But, actually, the article was a call for a “one party system” that specifically argued that “both parties can’t work together.” The post’s conclusion:

America can’t afford more political paralysis. One side or the other must win. This is a civil war that can be won without firing a shot. But it is a fundamental conflict between two worldviews that must be resolved in short order.

California, as usual, resolved it early. The Democrats won; the Republicans lost. The conservative way forward lost; the progressive way forward began. As we’ve laid out in this series, California is the future, always about 15 years ahead of the rest of the country. That means that America, starting in 2018, is going to resolve it, too.

So, not a “great read” after all then.
